Nintendo is peem, Sega is looking quite meep these days. In any case, always look at the terms of use + whether something is specifically proprietary and part of a game or series of games, and who created said games (which would give you an indicator of how permissive they are). I know that the Touhou soundfont is nonspecific, as it uses Panasonic keyboard sounds that have likely featured elsewhere for example (and I have physically played said keyboard before). mid samples I want to use but when I try, a message box pops up saying 'You do not have set up a default soundfont in the settings dialog (Edit->Settings).
Nintendo might not come down as hard, but I'd still exercise caution. Maybe this is a stupid question but im a total noob to lmms and don't know a ton about computers so I'm wondering if someone can help me figure this out I have some. If you know of a site you think is worth listing here, then please contact me. Within this list you will find links both to GM SoundFonts and to SoundFonts with individual instruments.
#LMMS SOUNDFONTS PLUS#
Genesis and regular NES and SNES sounds are a dime a dozen, and as for Mother 3, I don't know if its sounds feature elsewhere. A GM SoundFont has presets (instruments) defined for all 128 melodic midi programs, plus at least one percussion set.
I feel, as has said, if it's a generic / nonspecific game SF2, you can do it. Soundfonts in general are in the iffy/grayarea of copyright the way I see it. Milkypossum got away with using the MOTHER 3 sountfont for a track of hers, and a song of mine that uses primarily Genesis sounds got frontpaged.
